The purpose of the SARASOTA BAY SINGLES YACHT CLUB is to provide a forum for single people who have an interest in sailing as participating crew members, learning or sharing sailing skills and knowledge, meeting other like-minded single people, and promoting safe sailing in a fun environment.

We have fun doing other things, too, such as river rafting, kayaking, theater, parties, BBQ/pool parties, dinner parties, and other events.

Sarasota Bay Singles Yacht Club
is a truly unique organization, chartered especially for single people who are interested in sailing as a participating crew member. You may be new to sailing with a desire to learn, or you may be an experienced sailor who wishes to meet other single sailors to share your sailing experience and knowledge.

Our members coordinate raft-up sails and lunch and dinner sails to Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, Edwards Island, Egmont Key and other areas. Opportunities for two, three and four-day cruises come up from time to time; to Ft. Myers, Naples, Venice, Tampa Bay, Boca Grande, Tarpon Springs, and Beyond. Some of our members are interested in racing and, if you've never tried it, anyone can tell you it's a lot of fun!

Sailing requires physical strength, balance and agility. If you have that ability, are single and you would like to be physically involved in hands-on sailing a boat, sailing at a reasonable cost, and have fun times with other like-minded single sailors in an active organization, then SBSYC is for you !

Sailing experience is not required, just a desire to learn and participate as a "working crew member". We wish to attract those people who have a genuine interest in sailing. Both beginners and experienced sailors are welcome. Boat owner's looking to use their boat with like minded single people, will find many interesting people for crew, and find other boats to join with in raft-ups and overnight cruises.
